SCOUTING 2007 - 21st World Scout Jamboree In 2007, Scouting will celebrate its Centenary with a year-long programme of events and activities throughout the UK and worldwide. As a part of this celebration, the UK will host the 21st World Scout Jamboree for 40,000 young people at Hylands Park, Chelmsford. A European Scout Jamboree for 15,000 will be held on the same site in 2005. Scouting 2007 is looking for volunteers to take part in the planning of these events. Exploration Opportunities Expeditions in 2003 BSES Expeditions (formerly the British Schools Exploring Society) is a non profit making UK based charity founded in 1932 by the late Surgeon Commander G. Murray Levick, a member of Scott's Antarctic Expedition of 1910. As such, it is one of the longest running organisations of its type. For over 70 years BSES has provided opportunities for young people (aged 16 - 20) of all abilities to take part in science and adventure projects in wilderness areas. RoverWay 2003 - People in Motion (17/11/2002) 31 July to 11 August 2003, Portugal RoverWay will be the first of a new series of European events for Scouts and Guides aged 16 - 22. It is anticipated that 2,400 to 3,000 members of the older sections of forty or more European Scout and Guide Associations will take part and the UK contingent is likely to be fifteen teams of eight. The event is open to those born between 12 August 1980 and 31 July 1987. Uganda Network - Explorer Belt Opportunity (24/11/2002) The Uganda Network is recruiting Explorer Scouts 16+, Venture Scouts and Members of the Scout Network, for an Explorer Belt Expedition to Uganda in 2003. It is a chance to gain your Explorer Belt in an extremely friendly and welcoming African country. There will also be opportunities to go on Safari and visit a large African Jamboree.
